When a C13 outlet is mounted in a power strip or enclosure take care not to damage the outlet when removing the plug. To remove a Secure Sleeve that remains in an outlet after cord extraction, pull Secure Sleeve tabs that extend from outlet. If unable to extract with tabs then turn off power source and use non-conductive tool to extract.

This model is red and has tabs to ease extraction. To properly install the Secure Sleeve, slide over plug shroud and press firmly onto plug. Fully insert cord to avoid arcing between conductors. Typically, 4 lbs of force pull are required to extract a C14 plug. With C14 Secure Sleeve Tab the average is 26 lbs of force pull to extract a C14 plug. Repeated insertions and extractions may deteriorate the force pounds required to extract a C14 Plug.
